EVENTS!

There is an National Issues Forums workshop/discussion coming up on Thursday, April 6th at the Humphrey Institute: Democracy's Challenge: Reclaiming the Public's Role. The event will begin at 5:00 and last until 8:30, and there will be food if you reserve a place in advance. Send me an email or post a comment if you're interested, and I can reserve a place with the moderator.

If you are planning to attend, or cannot attend but have an interest in the topic, you can order a free copy of the discussion guide (and it is nice) by calling 800-600-4060, or you can download a copy at http://www.nifi.org/discussion_guides/detail.aspx?catID=6&itemID=5083

Also, the United Front for Children is holding an all day event at Coffman Memorial Union on April 21st (8:30-4:30) called "Global Efforts to Combat Sexual Trafficking in Travel and Tourism." The keynote speaker will be Ann Veneman, Executive Director of UNICEF; also speaking--Ambassador John Miller (U.S. State Department Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons), Professor Vitit Muntarbhorn (Former UN Speacial Rapporteur on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution, and Child Pornography), and others.

It will be cool. Register here: http://www.hrusa.org/workshops/trafficking/
