What a strange beard. I've seen a beard, perhaps on a musician or an artist for whom social conventions are a hinderance to their larger contributions toward Harmony. But those were very small beards perhaps, only the occasional hair, or they were white from age. I have seen further beards, some quite full, but on disreputable men who didn't afford cars and wore sneakers.

But you, Sseonsaengnim, you are not like them, you are merely foreign. Your face has beard in many more places than the faces we have here, you have proper shoes and a tie. It is because you have different customs, are as if from another time.
